This role will suit both experienced Technical Superintendents as well as Chief Engineers (Class 1) who are keen to transition ashore and build a long-term career in ship management.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the technical management of assigned vessels, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operations
- Manage planned and unplanned maintenance, repairs, drydockings, and surveys in line with company standards and regulatory requirements
- Monitor vessel condition, technical performance, budgets, and cost control
- Provide technical guidance and support to shipboard teams, including troubleshooting and defect management
- Liaise with ship staff, shipyards, vendors, makers, and classification societies to ensure timely resolution of technical matters
- Ensure compliance with Flag State, Class, ISM, and company policies
- Review technical reports, maintenance records, and defect trends, implementing preventive measures where required
- Support newbuildings, major repairs, or fleet improvement projects as assigned
- Chief Engineer (Class 1) Certificate of Competency and/or prior shore-based experience as a Technical Superintendent
- Sailing experience on relevant vessel types (e.g.offshore vessels)
- Strong technical knowledge of marine engineering systems and maintenance practices
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
- Candidates with no prior shore experience but with C/E experience and strong motivation to move ashore are encouraged to apply
