Job Summary:
The Technical Superintendent is responsible for the safe, efficient, and environmentally conscious operation of assigned vessels. This role ensures compliance with relevant regulations, including the ISM code, and supports ships with technical operations, audits, and inspections. Responsibilities include monitoring technical managers' budgets, managing vessel documentation, analyzing costs and performance data, and preparing ships for takeovers and repairs. The Superintendent also supports senior officer screenings, prepares various technical reports, and maintains communication with the technical line manager. Additionally, the role involves arranging management reviews, planning dock repairs, and obtaining quotes for supplies to ensure quality and cost-efficiency.
Must Have!!!
- Technical/Maritime qualifications with seagoing experience on bulk carriers as Chief or Second Engineer/Master, or a degree in naval architecture or marine engineering with relevant office experience handling dry bulk vessels with cranes.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Focus on environmental issues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for building relationships with shipboard staff and managers.
- Good knowledge of PMS and SMS systems
- Demonstrated customer focus, problem-solving abilities, teamwork, creativity, professionalism, a positive attitude, self-motivation, and adaptability under pressure.
