You will be joining a leading maritime organisation specialising in the technical management and operation of a diverse fleet of bulk carriers. Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the technical management of a fleet of bulk carriers, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Lead and mentor a team of technical managers, superintendents, and engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize the technical performance and operational efficiency of the fleet.
  • Ensure the highest standards of safety, maintenance, and reliability are upheld across the fleet.
  • Manage budgets, cost controls, and financial performance related to technical operations.
  • Liaise with stakeholders, including clients, regulatory bodies, and service providers, to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of vessels, implementing corrective actions as necessary to address technical issues.
  • Drive innovation and the adoption of new technologies to enhance the fleet’s technical capabilities.
Key Requirements:   
  • Former Chief Engineer with extensive experience in a similar capacity as a General Manager, Fleet/Technical Director.
  • Strong background and knowledge within the bulk carrier sector.
  • Proven track record in driving technical standards and operational excellence.
  • Exceptional leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and lead a high-performing team.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make strategic decisions under pressure.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Thorough understanding of maritime regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices.
