Key Responsibilities:
- Vessel Scheduling and Allocation:
- Coordinate the allocation of tankers to specific voyages or charter agreements.
- Optimize scheduling to ensure efficient use of vessels while considering factors like maintenance, availability, and cargo requirements.
- Charter Negotiations and Agreements:
- Liaise with charterers to secure profitable contracts for the pool.
- Ensure that charter agreements align with the pool's strategic and financial goals.
- Operational Coordination:
- Monitor and oversee the day-to-day operations of tankers within the pool.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards.
- Handle voyage planning, including route optimization, port operations, and cargo handling.
- Revenue Management and Reporting:
- Track income generated by the pool and ensure equitable distribution among pool members based on the agreed formula.
- Prepare financial reports and operational summaries for stakeholders.
- Market Analysis and Strategy:
- Monitor shipping markets, freight rates, and demand trends to identify profitable opportunities.
- Provide input on strategic decisions, such as fleet expansion or repositioning of vessels.
- Compliance and Communication:
- Ensure that all vessels comply with international regulations (e.g., IMO standards) and local laws.
- Serve as a communication link between shipowners, charterers, and operational teams.
- Educational Background: Typically, a degree in maritime studies, logistics, business, or a related field.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the shipping industry, tanker operations, and international trade.
