Responsibilities:
- Oversee the safe and efficient operation of Tanker vessels, ensuring compliance with international regulations, industry best practices, and company policies.
- Provide technical guidance and support to vessel crews in matters relating to Tanker operations, navigation, safety, and emergency response.
- Conduct regular vessel inspections and audits to identify and rectify any operational or safety concerns.
- Collaborate with the fleet management team to plan and execute vessel maintenance and repair activities, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal vessel performance.
- Monitor vessel performance, including fuel consumption, voyage analysis, and compliance with environmental regulations.
- Assist in the development and implementation of safe working practices, policies, and procedures for Tanker operations.
- Conduct incident investigations and provide recommendations to prevent recurrence and enhance safety.
- Extensive travel of more than 120 days per annum
- Minimum 24 months of sea service in the rank of Master Mariner on Tanker vessels.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to effectively communicate with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Extensive knowledge of Tanker vessel operations, safety procedures, and international regulations.
- Proven track record in managing vessel operations, including maintenance, navigation, and emergency response.
- Familiarity with industry best practices, industry standards, and class society rules for Tanker vessels.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong leadership abilities and the capacity to manage and motivate teams effectively.
- Proficiency in using relevant software applications and tools for vessel management.
- Relevant tertiary education or advanced certifications in maritime studies or related field.
- Experience in a shore-based marine superintendent role or similar position.
- Familiarity with safety management systems, risk assessment methodologies, and incident investigation processes.
