Faststream are delighted to have partnered with a leader in the commodity trading space to identify and recruit a Shipping Solicitor for their London business.
You would be joining an established legal team that is currently expanding and you would be reporting to the Global General Counsel.
As part of the role, your responsibilities will include handling disputes with shipowners and charterers concerning freight, demurrage, off-hire when escalated to the legal team and you'll be dealing with varied workload of contentious and non-contentious matters relating to sale contracts, charter parties, bills of lading, cargo shortages and contamination, storage agreements, and general contract.
The ideal candidate will be a UK qualified solicitor with 4-6 years PQE specialised in dry shipping. P&I Club experience is desirable and additional language skills would be an advantage.
