Faststream Recruitment is working exclusively with a world-leading provider of stabilised satellite antenna systems, to find their next Field Engineer based in the Netherlands.
About the Role Reporting to the EMEA Technical Services Manager, the Field Engineer will be the technical front-line of delivering world-class installation, configuration and repair services for the company’s cutting-edge satellite communication systems across the maritime, offshore, and defence sectors.
This is a customer-facing, travel-intensive position with global reach. Ideal for an adaptable, self-sufficient engineer who thrives in dynamic environments and understands the technical demands of maritime communications.
Key Responsibilities
- Onboard installation, configuration, and repair of Satcom systems (TVRO, VSAT, Iridium Certus, FleetBroadband etc.)
- Troubleshooting technical issues and supporting dealers/end-users worldwide
- Case management via CRM – maintaining accurate records of all service tasks
- Supporting technical evaluations, system demonstrations and customer training
- Travelling internationally to meet project demands
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent industry experience
- Background in maritime, offshore or satellite communications (GVF/NMEA/MEI certifications a plus)
- Solid knowledge of RF systems and IP networking (TCP/IP, subnets, routing, DHCP etc.)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on problem-solving skills
- Full EU work rights and valid driving license
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently, at times with short notice
- Fluent English communication (written and verbal)
- Comfortable working at height, in confined spaces
