We are supporting a global leader in marine technology and automation systems, known for delivering advanced digital control, monitoring, and propulsion solutions to commercial vessels and offshore assets worldwide.

Due to continued growth, we are seeking a Field Service Engineer to join the regional Customer Support team. This role combines hands-on technical service, commissioning, and remote support for both newbuild and retrofit projects across Southeast Asia and internationally.

Role Overview:
As a Field Service Engineer, you will play a critical role supporting customers onboard vessels and at shipyards. You will perform commissioning, troubleshooting, service, and upgrades for marine automation and control systems, ensuring smooth operation of vessel monitoring, propulsion/steering control, and related integrated systems.
This is a customer-facing role suited for someone who enjoys solving technical challenges and representing a world-class brand onboard.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance for marine automation and control systems on vessels and in shipyards.
  • Provide onboard and remote technical support to customers, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal system performance.
  • Plan, prepare, and execute service assignments professionally and safely.
  • Support retrofit and refit projects including documentation, testing, and configuration updates.
  • Produce accurate service reports and maintain documentation (drawings, cabling information, system changes).
  • Assist internal teams—including sales—with technical clarification and system expertise when required.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers within Southeast Asia and globally.
  • Support workshop testing, pre-commissioning, and technical preparations prior to deployment.
Requirements
  • Diploma or Degree in Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation Engineering (or related).
  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience in marine automation, control systems, or monitoring systems.
  • Experience working onboard vessels or shipyards, preferably with propulsion or steering control systems.
  • Strong understanding of computer hardware, networks, and basic software configuration.
  • Customer-focused mindset with strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
  • Ability to travel regionally and occasionally worldwide for vessel and project support.
