The Role:

As a Senior Surveyor, you will:

  • Work closely with shipyards and local equipment manufacturers, ensuring compliance with industry standards, procedures, and regulations.
  • Verify technical drawings on-site and confirm that construction or modifications meet required specifications.
  • Participate in acceptance tests, assessing materials and components as part of quality assurance.
  • Take responsibility for project deliverables, budgets, and schedules, with opportunities to mentor and guide less experienced colleagues.
  • Undertake training and induction courses to gain necessary authorisations and maintain professional development.
What We're Looking For:
  • Degree in Naval Architecture or equivalent from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in shipbuilding, shipyards, or a related marine engineering environment.
  • Hands-on experience with cargo ships, yachts, or passenger vessels preferred.
  • Proficiency in German is highly desirable, due to client and shipyard locations, but not mandatory.
  • Valid driving licence; company car or allowance may be provided depending on experience.
  • Cooperative, team-oriented, and comfortable working in a multicultural environment.
  • Willingness to travel within a 100 km radius of Bremen and occasionally further afield.
What You'll Gain:
  • Exposure to a broad range of vessels and projects, from technical inspections to project management.
  • Structured induction and training programmes to support career progression.
  • Opportunity to grow into a Project Manager role and take on more responsibility over time.
  • Experience working with an internationally recognized classification society in a professional and values-driven environment.
If you are a proactive, technically-minded naval architect with shipbuilding experience, eager to take ownership of your work and develop your career in a supportive, international environment, I want to hear from you!
