Lloyd’s Register is recruiting an experienced Senior Surveyor to cover all Surveying activity across the North East of Italy. 

As an experienced Senior Surveyor, you will be required to carry out Offshore, Marine, New-build and Ship in-service surveys. 

In brief:-

  • Conduct Surveyor relevant activities, undertake project management and provide advice for service delivery within own area of experience, adhering to budget constraints and contractual requirements.

  • Produce the deliverable to the agreed schedule, budget and quality levels within an appropriate format and take responsibility to review and monitor other employee’s work as requested.

  • Discuss and present the deliverable with the internal / external client and be able to suggest solutions as necessary.

  • Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation, and industry standards.

  • Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline, knowledge and awareness.

  • Assess or recommend the time and value of the work to be undertaken for an external client and to assist in identifying the most appropriate fee and cost structure.

  • Mentor / coach other employees, as appropriate, to achieve effective knowledge transfer and application.

  • Contribute to external client management; ensuring service delivery is continually improved through monitoring and acting on client feedback appropriately.

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering, or similar i.e. Chief Engineer

  • Thorough understanding of class rules

  • Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written in both English and Italian language 

  • Previous experience in a classification society is desirable
