Faststream are working with a fast growing, deep tech engineering business in the maritime industry, they are looking to hire an experienced Senior Sales Manager to join on a remote basis in the Netherlands.
This role is a senior commercial position with a strong growth mandate. You will work closely with shipowners, offshore operators, and technical decision-makers to introduce advanced navigation and optimisation solutions to the Dutch maritime market. This is a proactive, consultative role rather than a traditional reactive sales position. In this role, you will work closely with stakeholders to influence both technical and strategic decisions, encouraging the adoption of advanced digital and sustainable technologies that enhance vessel efficiency, safety, and overall performance.
Responsibilities
- Identify, target, and develop strategic customer accounts in the Netherlands with fleets seeking advanced optimisation solutions
- Define and execute tailored commercial strategies for highly technical markets
- Own and manage the full sales cycle, with strong involvement in technical pre-sales activities
- Present and promote complex technical solutions to technical, operational, and innovation-focused stakeholders
- Build, manage, and maintain a structured CRM-driven sales pipeline
- Develop and manage partnerships with system integrators, shipyards, OEMs, and technical consultancies
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, workshops, and customer meetings across the Netherlands
- Conduct market intelligence and competitive analysis to inform strategy
- Provide accurate sales forecasting and regular reporting to senior management
- Support contract negotiations and technical–commercial coordination
- MSc degree in Engineering (marine, mechanical, electrical, automation, systems, robotics, or similar) or equivalent experience
- 10+ years’ experience within the maritime or offshore sector, such as DP, automation, navigation, control systems, simulation, subsea, or related technical fields
- Proven experience selling complex, high-value technical or engineered solutions
- Strong ability to understand customer technical challenges and translate them into commercially viable solutions
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to independently plan, structure, and execute a long-term sales strategy
- Fluency in both Dutch and English; additional languages are an advantage
- Willingness to travel regularly within Northern Europe
