The Role
As Senior Crewing Superintendent, you will:
- Oversee the full spectrum of crewing operations, ensuring vessels are safely and effectively manned in compliance with STCW, MLC, Flag State, and company standards.
- Manage crew planning, rotation schedules, and career progression for officers and ratings.
- Supervise and mentor a team of crewing staff, ensuring smooth execution of crew changes, medical compliance, and travel arrangements.
- Monitor seafarer performance and training needs, working with training providers to close skill gaps and ensure readiness.
- Liaise with vessel management, owners, and operators to ensure seamless crewing support.
- Contribute to continual improvement initiatives, including audits, incident follow-ups, and management reviews.
- Act as a senior point of contact on crewing matters with both internal and external stakeholders.
We are seeking an experienced crewing professional with:
- Prior experience as a Crewing Superintendent, ideally within shipmanagement.
- Strong knowledge of international crewing regulations (STCW, MLC, Flag State).
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage complex crew rotations, and handle large-scale manning requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across seafarers, shore teams, and senior stakeholders.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Mandarin to liaise effectively with multinational crews and stakeholders.
- A background in seafaring as an officer, or equivalent qualifications, will be highly regarded.
