Our client, a global leader in the energy sector, is seeking a Risk Engineering Manager to lead the safety and risk management efforts across their operational and development assets. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in safeguarding complex projects and infrastructure, while shaping the safety culture and risk standards of a forward-thinking organization.
The Role: As the Risk Engineering Manager, you’ll be at the helm of critical safety and risk engineering activities — including process safety, reliability analysis, and major accident prevention — across both existing operations and future projects. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, facilitate high-level safety studies, and ensure best-in-class safety standards and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop enterprise-wide risk management strategies.
- Conduct and facilitate risk studies including HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, and QRA.
- Perform consequence modeling: fire & explosion analysis, toxic gas dispersion, smoke ingress, etc.
- Oversee Reliability, Availability & Maintainability (RAM) assessments, including FMECA.
- Collaborate with project, operations, and HSSEQ teams to integrate safety into facility designs.
- Prepare detailed reports, risk assessments, and communicate findings to stakeholders.
- Guide and support local engineers and provide training as needed.
- Monitor effectiveness of risk mitigation strategies and continuously optimize processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field (advanced degree preferred).
- Experienced in risk engineering, ideally in oil and gas or marine operations.
- Proven expertise facilitating HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, QRA, RAM, and SIL studies.
- Strong background in process engineering and P&ID interpretation.
- Minimum 5 years of experience using consequence modeling software.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite and risk analysis tools.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
- Onsite role with approximately 10% domestic/international travel.
- Physical and sensory capabilities consistent with a standard office and occasional site environment.
