Faststream are working with a well-known Energy client that are looking to add a Project Risk Engineer to their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for the right person to work alongside a leading Oil & Gas EPC company. This role would be a contract position for 12 months initially but with the intention to extend or go staff. This is a hybrid role likely to only have to attend the office 2/3 days a week but may consider fully remote in the UK.

The Role -
You will be overseeing maintenance, development and monitoring risk management activities for the projects. Dealing with associated activities and documents for multiple project work scopes. Ensure all risk associated with the project from start (including pre-contract) to end of project are managed.

  • Actively establish and maintain Risk Management activities on projects, seeking any potential opportunities for improvement.
  • Delivery of a range of Risk Management services to project teams, facilitating the identification and analysis of risks on projects at all stages as required, interpreting risk outputs, and communicating too relevant stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Maintain, monitor, and assess all project risk related processes and activities, report and rectify any variances or issues.
  • Support Project / Contract Manager(s) with any contract specific reporting or risk related tasks, including the ongoing continual improvement of Risk Management systems and procedures.
  • To provide guidance to Project personnel in defining Risk Management objectives based on project objectives and support application of the risk process.
  • To develop and implement risk assessment criteria as part of a project risk register.
  • To conduct Cost / Schedule Risk Analysis Workshop sessions, facilitating workshops, building bespoke models and interpreting associated outputs for communication / review
The Person -
  • Previous Project experience i.e., involvement in large projects or multiple smaller projects.
  • Knowledge of, or participation in Risk Management on large projects or multiple smaller projects
  • Demonstrable involvement / history in the relevant project industry and / or cross-over experience from a comparable technical industry.
  • Confident and appropriately assertive to lead group workshops on a range of Risk Management activities.
  • Demonstrates good safety awareness and sets an appropriate example to others.
  • Capable of communicating with project teams, third parties & clients to meet internal and client requirements across multiple projects with several different clients concurrently.
  • Able to provide constructive challenge to project teams to ensure all risks are addressed appropriately.
  • Must have the right to work in the UK
