Faststream are working with an independent consultancy who provide comprehensive services in marine engineering, design and subsea cables. They seek an experienced Project Engineer to join the team and support their work providing technical expertise, analysis, and equipment to major projects in the renewables, telecoms, and power distribution markets.

The Role: 

Responsibilities to include (in no particular order):
  • Management of suppliers particularly for fabrication/machining
  • Completing assigned technical & engineering tasks drawing on own skills and knowledge and those of colleagues
  • Compiling Project Procedures, Plans and Documentation
  • Preparing Technical Reports & papers
  • Preparing Risk Assessments
  • Estimating costs & preparing budgets
  • Compiling Specifications
  • Specifying of equipment or components required for projects and orders
  • Ordering of equipment or components
  • Compiling and maintaining Document / Drawing/ Risk Registers appropriate to assignments
  • Working in accordance with Quality and Safety policies and management systems
The Person: 
The ideal candidate will be a degree qualified engineer with industry experience; a background in subsea cable installation and maintenance, or a related industry, and experience of supply chain management is highly desirable.

  • Good level of IT competency including Microsoft office suite, confident to develop skills in other software such as SAGE
  • Some knowledge of mechanical & electrical assembly
  • Driving license
  • Willing and medically fit to work offshore for limited periods. Company with fund medical and safety training.
Desirable Skills:
  • Supply chain management
  • Knowledge of fabrication methods, machining etc
  • Experience using basic CAD packages
  • Experience using SAGE or similar procurement software
