This challenging role involves daily management of a Military Sealift Command vessel, including overseeing shipyard projects and dry dockings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and negotiate shipyard dry-docking projects exceeding three million dollars.
- Ensure safe, efficient project execution and technical compliance.
- Provide remote support from a home office and on-site assistance as needed.
- Collaborate with vendors, contractors, and cross-functional teams.
- Maintain compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.
- Prepare and manage project records, reports, and budgets.
- Stay updated on industry trends and technology advancements.
- Minimum three years' Port Engineer experience with a record of managing shipyard projects.
- Four years' experience aboard ocean-going ships as Chief Engineer or First Assistant Engineer.
- Seven years' total experience, including relevant education or shipyard/military experience.
- Strong project management skills and technical knowledge.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
