The Role: As a Naval Architect, you will be an integral part of one of the UK’s most expansive and rapidly evolving Marine Design Departments. You will be involved in some of the most intricate ship design and construction projects ever embarked upon, delivering state-of-the-art submarines. This position offers the opportunity to engage with submarines throughout the entire product life cycle, from initial design to build support and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Applying your expertise in hydrostatics, hydrodynamics, seamanship & outfit, infrastructure, or whole boat design to contribute to the UK’s most significant shipbuilding projects
- Participating in sea trials, inclining experiments, and other commissioning activities across various submarine classes
- Engaging in research and development tasks to establish world-class capabilities
- Proficient naval architect with a solid grasp of marine design
- Chartered Engineer accreditation with RINA
- Stability or manoeuvring assessment experience
- Able to obtain high level Security Clearance
