Job Description


We’re looking for a hands-on technical leader to ensure safe, reliable operation of our clients  offshore gangway and crane systems. This role combines remote oversight with occasional offshore attendance and requires strong troubleshooting ability, technical authority, and clear communication with vessels, clients and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and support mission system operations during campaigns.
  • Lead fault-finding and emergency repairs across mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and PLC/HMI systems.
  • Manage inspections, audits, and preventive maintenance to OEM/class standards.
  • Own technical documentation and statutory reporting.
  • Act as Technical Authority for gangway and crane performance, commissioning and diagnostics.
  • Ensure compliance with LOLER, IMCA, class rules, OEM regimes and HSE requirements.
  • Approve lift plans, transfer plans, motion envelope checks and FAT/SAT documents.
  • Drive continuous improvement, RCA and reliability upgrades.
  • Manage budgets, spares philosophy and investment recommendations.
  • Oversee competence, training and assessment for operators and technicians.
  • Support tenders, pre-mobs and KPI reporting.
Requirements
  • Degree/HND in Mechanical, Marine, Electrical or Hydraulic Engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years offshore experience and 3+ years in a supervisory/technical lead role.
  • Stage 3 Crane Operator + Crane Supervisor/Assessor; AP/LEEA and BOSIET/HUET desirable.
  • Experience with Ampelmann/SMST/Uptime gangways and modern offshore cranes.
  • Strong knowledge of LOLER, IMCA, DNV/ABS/Lloyd’s rules and client specs.
  • Calm under pressure, responsive to out-of-hours issues, professional and client-focused.
