A leading California-based metal fabrication company serving the maritime and shipbuilding industries is seeking an experienced and driven Plant Manager to oversee operations and lead a skilled production team.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, balancing operational excellence with customer engagement and continuous improvement. Reporting directly to senior leadership, you’ll be the site leader, driving efficiency, quality, and growth in a company known for precision craftsmanship and strong customer partnerships.

What You’ll Do
  • Oversee daily operations, including production, quality control, efficiency, safety, and maintenance.
  • Serve as the key point of contact for existing customers and ensure exceptional client satisfaction.
  • Lead, mentor, and support plant personnel to achieve performance and safety goals.
  • Apply lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and the Theory of Constraints to optimize operations and reduce waste.
  • Support and strengthen the Quality Management System (QMS) and champion continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with estimating and production teams to develop accurate, competitive quotes and bids.
  • Align production capabilities with customer timelines and project needs.
  • Partner with executive leadership to establish and achieve financial targets, including cost controls and margin improvements.
  • Monitor budgets, analyze KPIs, and implement process enhancements for sustainable growth.
  • Contribute to strategic improvements such as facility upgrades, equipment investments, and new technology adoption.
What We’re Looking For
  • 5+ years of experience in plant or operations management within metal fabrication—maritime experience preferred.
  • Strong technical expertise in sheet metal fabrication, including machinery, welding processes, and quality assurance.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
  • Experience with ERP and CRM systems a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, Business, or a related field preferred.
