Crewing Manager – Ship Management Company

Role Overview:

As Crewing Manager, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing all crewing activities across the fleet. This strategic role involves managing the deployment, development, and welfare of seafarers while ensuring full compliance with international maritime regulations. You will work closely with internal departments to support vessel performance and contribute to planning and budgeting processes. Maintaining strong communication between shore-based teams and onboard personnel will be key to your success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the crewing function, ensuring efficient and compliant crew operations.
  • Oversee crew planning, recruitment, training, and performance management.
  • Ensure adherence to international standards including MLC and flag state requirements.
  • Collaborate with technical, operations, and HSQE departments to support vessel performance.
  • Manage crewing budgets and contribute to cost-effective resource planning.
  • Maintain strong relationships with crew members and shore staff to promote engagement and retention.
Candidate Profile:
  • Bachelor’s degree in maritime studies or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proven experience in crew management or ship operations within the maritime sector.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficiency in crewing software and general office applications.
  • In-depth knowledge of international maritime regulations and standards.
