This is a shore-based marine role within a well-established maritime operation supporting inter-island trade. Located in Lae, the position includes company-provided accommodation and a company car, offering stability while remaining closely involved in vessel operations.
You will oversee marine safety, navigational standards, and regulatory compliance across vessels trading on inter-island routes. Responsibilities include audits and inspections, incident follow-up, operational support to Masters, and ensuring compliance with ISM and safety management requirements, working closely with shipboard teams and local authorities.
Key Requirements
- Senior seagoing background (Chief Mate or Master)
- Shore-based experience in a marine superintendent or similar role
- Experience on container ships, multipurpose vessels, or bulk carriers
- Strong grounding in ISM, safety management, and navigational standards
