Role Summary: Dedicated to ensuring the safe operation and security of assigned ships, bridging the gap between senior management and onboard personnel. Monitoring safety and pollution prevention aspects while ensuring adequate resources and support are provided as needed.
Reports to: Deputy General Manager (Marine)
Job and Responsibilities:
- Certification, ISPS, and SOPEP implementation
- Incident prevention, investigation, and management of P&I insurance matters
- Conducting internal and external audits
- Crew appraisals and senior officer briefings
- SMS familiarization and Emergency Response
- Safety meetings and Management Reviews
- Implementation of company SMS Policies & Procedures
- Assisting Technical Superintendent and handling ad hoc projects
- Monitoring Charts & Publications
- Coordination with charterers and ensuring charter requirements are met.
- Sharing Charter Party details and ensuring compliance onboard
- Minimum 1 year sailing experience as a Master
- 2-3 years of shore experience in HSEQ roles
- Successful business leadership track record
- Professional networking skills at appropriate levels
- Ability to lead and motivate multifunctional teams
- Strong influencing skills with a positive approach to making changes.
