About the Role


As a Marine or Vetting Superintendent with this industry leader, you will be at the forefront of their technical and operational success. Reporting to senior management, your main mission will be to ensure the safety, efficiency, and compliance of the chemical tankers under your supervision.


With your extensive experience as a Master or Chief Officer on hard chemical tankers, you will be responsible for ensuring the operational readiness and compliance of the fleet. This involves close collaboration with ship crews to manage both preventive and corrective maintenance, prepare and oversee technical stops, and ensure adherence to safety and environmental regulations.


Your expertise in chemical shipping will be crucial as you conduct regular audits and vetting processes, ensuring that all vessels meet stringent industry standards and company requirements. You will play a key role in implementing the Safety Management System (SMS) and fostering a culture of safety and excellence across the fleet.


Effective communication and leadership skills are essential, as you will act as the primary liaison between the company, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders. Your ability to manage budgets, optimize vessel performance, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives will be critical to your success in this role.


Candidate Profile


We are seeking a seasoned professional with a strong background in chemical tanker operations. You should have extensive sailing experience as a Master or Chief Officer on hard chemical tankers, coupled with at least one year of shore-based experience as a Marine or Vetting Superintendent. Proficiency in English (reading, speaking, writing) is essential, and additional language skills are a plus.


The ideal candidate will possess qualities of organization, rigor, responsiveness, and dynamism. You should be adept at communication, adaptable, versatile, and capable of working autonomously. Your ability to coordinate, unite, and lead teams will be critical to your success in this role.
