As a Marine Fire Technician your main tasks and responsibilities:
- Inspect and maintain Fire, Safety, and Rescue products for clients on ships, rigs, and facilities. This includes fire systems, breathing apparatuses, escape devices, gas detection instruments, and associated equipment.
- Carry out surveys according to the predetermined schedule and upon any request.
- Determine the necessities and requirements of ships, considering their classification, flag, and relevant manufacturer specifications.
- Act as the main point of contact for the ship's superintendents, officers, and crew during inspections and maintenance services on behalf of the company.
- Prepares required paperwork for certificates
- Examine and uphold the condition of equipment owned by the Company, including liquid level indicators, compressor testing units, various tools, and safety gear used in performing job duties.
- Use hand and power tools such as pipe threading machine, as required to maintain, service, repair and build various items used in the performance of job responsibilities.
- Offer the necessary technical and labour support to enable the timely resolution of customer requirements.

- Must hold as a minimum BAFE Fire Extinguisher Technician certification.
- Knowledge of applicable fire, safety and rescue marine rules.
- Knowledge of electrical circuits and mechanical piping configurations.
- Demonstrated experience working with the following equipment types;
- portable fire extinguishers (Powder, CO2, Foam and Water)
- fixed installation CO2, halon, powder, and foam fire systems
- Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA), Emergency Escape Breathing Devices (EEBD)
- Hydraulic Pressure testing for (CO2, Halon, AIR, N2 and oxygen cylinders)
- Water Hydrants, including applicable hoses, couplings, and branch pipes.
- Portable gas detection equipment.
- Experience performing inspections and providing services to various fire, safety, and rescue equipment.
- Must have good attention to detail.
