Key Responsibilities:
- Provide hands-on technical support for marine automation systems, primarily in service, troubleshooting, and maintenance environments.
- Perform fault diagnosis, troubleshooting, and remote support for automation systems, including boiler controls and field instrumentation calibration or replacement.
- Attend onboard vessels for field service, commissioning, and repair activities as required.
- Install, configure, test, and customise automation hardware and software in line with OEM standards and project-specific requirements.
- Configure and maintain PC-based control and monitoring systems.
- Analyse, configure, and install industrial networks and communication equipment.
- Support and troubleshoot power management systems and associated electrical systems.
- Program and support industrial communication protocols including RS232, RS422, RS485, HART, and Foundation Fieldbus.
- Work with Modbus RTU/TCP, OPC server/client configurations, PID setup, and tuning.
- Develop and customise PLC and SCADA applications, including HMI/mimic screen development.
- Service, commission, retrofit, and upgrade marine automation systems, including:
- Engine Manoeuvring Systems (EMS)
- Engine Protection Systems (EPS)
- Propulsion Control Systems (PCS)
- Machinery Control Systems (UCS/MCS)
- Engineering degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Electronics & Communication Engineering.
- 5-8 years of hands-on experience as a Service Engineer or Automation Specialist, preferably within marine or offshore environments.
- Strong practical knowledge of marine automation equipment; experience with Lyngsøe systems is an advantage.
- Proven troubleshooting mindset with the ability to work independently onboard vessels.
- Customer-focused and solution-oriented, with strong service delivery awareness.
- Good written and spoken English communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Office applications.
- Strong team player with a proactive, hands-on approach to problem-solving.
