We are on the lookout for a dedicated Marine Service Engineer to join our team in Savannah, GA. This role is designed for a professional who thrives on independence and is capable of managing a diverse workload from a home office.

With a longstanding presence in the area, you will be stepping into a well-established territory, servicing both commercial vessels and private yachts.

In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, service, and repair of a wide array of electronic equipment onboard various ships. Your technical acumen will be put to the test as you handle components, PCBs, sub-assemblies, and antennas, ensuring all electronic systems are operating at peak performance. Your problem-solving skills will be essential as you tackle technical issues using your knowledge of electronic theory, aided by schematics, blueprints, and manuals.

Your responsibilities will also include updating software and composing detailed service reports that document your work and findings. The equipment you will service includes:
  • Advanced navigation radars
  • Electronic Chart Display and Information Systems (ECDIS)
  • Satellite communication systems (Satcoms)
  • High-frequency (HF) and very high-frequency (VHF) radios
  • Global Positioning Systems (GPS)
  • Precision gyrocompasses
  • Automated pilot systems
  • Depth sounders
To excel in this position, you should have:
  • At least 3 years of experience in marine electronics, preferably with a background in commercial shipping or military service (Navy, Coast Guard, or Marines).
  • An Associate’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience.
  • A strong grasp of electronics theory and practical application.
  • Preferred qualifications include a valid FCC General License with Radar Endorsement and a GMDSS Radio Operator Maintainer License.
  • Physical fitness to handle tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing, and working in various weather conditions.
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
