Responsibilities:.
- Safety and Quality Standards:
- Ensure vessels and crew meet safety, environmental, and operational requirements.
- Foster an interdependent safety culture among employees.
- Implement and monitor environmental policies to prevent pollution and ensure sustainable vessel operations.
- Operational Management:
- Manage marine operations to maintain customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
- Provide support to port management teams and crew for efficient towage operations.
- Coordinate training and development, ensuring compliance with certification and training requirements.
- Business Acumen and Stakeholder Relations:
- Support the leadership team in managing P&L for the fleet.
- Build strong relationships with external and internal stakeholders (customers, agencies, port authorities).
- Collaborate with crew and operations to ensure readiness of the vessels.
- Technical Readiness:
- Ensure vessels are fully certified according to maritime legislative requirements and classification society regulations.
- Oversee refit and fleet time maintenance programs.
- Remember, effective communication and leadership are essential for success in this role!
- Proven experience in marine compliance management at sea or in a shore based role.
- Sailing experience on commercial vessels.
- Ambitious and eager to advance your career into a senior management and a leadership role in the future.
- Working knowledge of applicable Code of Federal Regulations, SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM Code, ISPS Code, MTSA, OPA ’90 and other associated regulatory compliance requirements
- Willingness to learn and adapt.
- Strong spreadsheet and reporting skills.
- Ability to travel to Northern California for vessel audits.
