Your Role & Responsibilities:
Strategic Sales & Market Growth:
- Lead and execute a sales strategy tailored for the Malaysian Marine sector, focusing on local market expansion, increasing market share, and driving revenue growth.
- Identify and participate in key tenders and projects, ensuring strong local market positioning.
- Conduct market research to identify growth opportunities, industry trends, and key players within Malaysia’s maritime sector.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with Malaysia's shipowners, operators, regulatory bodies, and maritime stakeholders to drive new business opportunities.
- Develop innovative marine solutions to meet evolving industry needs and explore areas for expansion.
- Proactively identify, target, and acquire new clients within Malaysia’s marine industry, including key players such as Marine Department Malaysia (Jabatan Laut), MISC, Port Authorities, Petronas, and other offshore operators.
- Customize sales proposals and solutions to address specific client challenges and convert leads into revenue-generating partnerships.
- Negotiate contracts and close deals efficiently, ensuring long-term business relationships.
- Manage and grow key accounts by creating tailored strategies that align with client goals and company objectives.
- Focus on client retention and expansion, identifying opportunities for cross-selling and upselling marine services.
- Develop and implement a commercial strategy to guide marine sales activities in Malaysia, ensuring alignment with overall business goals.
- Oversee the preparation of quotations, contracts, and invoicing processes, ensuring seamless commercial operations.
- Work closely with regional, zone, and global Marine teams to support business development efforts in Malaysia.
- Foster strong internal and external stakeholder engagement to enhance business growth and service excellence.
- Represent the company at maritime industry events, networking sessions, and regulatory meetings to enhance brand visibility.
- Deliver presentations and technical seminars to showcase marine industry insights, trends, and innovative solutions.
- A degree in Engineering, preferably in Marine, Offshore, or related fields, with at least 8 years of industry experience, including 5 years in a commercial and managerial role.
- Strong network within Malaysia’s maritime ecosystem, including connections with shipyards, oil & gas operators, vessel owners, and regulatory authorities.
- Proven ability to drive sales, manage key accounts, and grow market share in Malaysia’s marine and offshore industries.
- Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia (Mandarin or other local dialects is an added advantage for engaging with diverse industry players).
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and commercially savvy, with a strong understanding of Malaysia’s business culture and regulatory landscape.
- Experience working with Jabatan Laut Malaysia, PETRONAS vendors, shipbrokers, classification societies, or marine service providers is a plus.
