- Conduct AML/KYC due diligence on corporate clients across a range of legal structures and jurisdictions, including onboarding, periodic reviews, and trigger event reviews.
- Collect, assess, verify, and maintain KYC documentation in line with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Perform screening for sanctions, politically exposed persons (PEPs), and adverse media, identifying, assessing, and escalating risks where appropriate.
- Clearly document due diligence findings, risk assessments, and any deviations from standard documentation, including proposed mitigations.
- Classify clients according to risk and regulatory profiles and monitor for material changes impacting client risk status.
- Liaise directly with brokers, front office teams, management, and external counterparties to resolve KYC and onboarding queries efficiently.
- Investigate and escalate suspicious activity and potential financial crime issues, including AML and fraud-related concerns.
- Maintain accurate records, trackers, and databases relating to KYC, sanctions, PEPs, and adverse media.
- Provide timely and clear progress updates to relevant stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
- Take ownership of assigned cases, managing them through to resolution while meeting internal service level expectations.
- Support broader compliance initiatives, projects, and training requirements as directed by regional or global compliance leadership.
- Contribute to a strong risk-aware and compliance-focused culture across the business.
- 2–5 years of experience in KYC, AML, compliance, or client onboarding within financial services, brokerage, trading, or a related environment.
- Solid understanding of KYC regulations, customer risk assessment, sanctions screening, and adverse media processes.
- Experience handling corporate structures across multiple jurisdictions; exposure to higher-risk or complex entities is an advantage.
- Familiarity with regulatory expectations in Singapore and awareness of international regulatory frameworks (e.g. UK, EU, US) is beneficial.
- Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail and sound judgment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with confidence engaging internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and standard business systems.
- Proactive, organised, and solution-oriented, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong sense of integrity, discretion, and professionalism when handling sensitive information.
- Collaborative team player who can also operate effectively with minimal supervision.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, international, and evolving regulatory environment.
- Adaptable, resilient, and committed to continuous learning and professional development.
