Faststream Recruitment is partnering with a leading ferry and logistics operator to recruit an experienced HSSE Irish Seas Route Manager & Safety Training Officer.
In this crucial role, you will drive the Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) strategy across Irish Sea operations, supporting both ports and vessels. You’ll work closely with local management, to ensure the highest standards of safety, compliance, and risk management are consistently upheld.
You will also be responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating high-quality HSSE training programs across the Irish Sea region, supporting both operational teams and management, including contractors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise, assess, and monitor HSSE activities and risks across operations
- Implement and oversee assurance protocols for employees, visitors, and contractors
- Audit, educate, and develop local teams to maintain Group HSSE standards
- Ensure compliance with all security, cyber, and regulatory requirements
- Deliver tailored, engaging HSSE training aligned with current legislation, IMO standards, and best practices
- Use feedback and data to continuously improve training strategies
- Collaborate with the Head of HSSE on long-term operational strategy and performance improvement
- 3–5 years of credible experience in an HSSE management role.
- Strong knowledge of relevant regulations (Health & Safety at Work Act, MARPOL, ISPS Code)
- Experienced in incident investigation techniques (e.g., ICAM)
- Proven background in delivering HSSE training
- Degree-level qualification in HSSE, Engineering, or equivalent (Level 6 Safety Professional Exams)
- PTTLS/AET Level 3 or equivalent teaching qualification - or willing to obtain.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences
