To lead and embed the HSSE strategy across Irish Seas ports and vessels, supporting operational and management teams to maintain high standards of health, safety, security and environmental compliance. The role also designs, delivers and evaluates HSSE training for operational teams and management.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with Port and Ship Management to promote a strong HSSE culture
- Identify, assess and manage HSSE risks across port and vessel operations
- Ensure assurance protocols are in place for employees, contractors and visitors
- Audit, educate and support teams to meet Group HSSE standards and legal requirements
- Embed HSSE into day-to-day operations and share trends and learnings
- Support regulatory, stakeholder and compliance requirements
- Maintain HSSE management systems
- Ensure compliance with security regulations, including ISPS, Flag and Port State
- Oversee cyber security compliance under the ISM Code
- Design and deliver role-specific HSSE training, including contractor training
- Keep training aligned with legislation, IMO requirements and best practice
- Review training effectiveness using feedback, assessments and incident data
- Work with stakeholders to maintain security standards across routes and ports
- Support long-term HSSE operational strategy with the Head of HSSE

- 3 to 5 years’ HSSE management experience in high-risk environments such as ports, marine or logistics
- Experience delivering HSSE training
- Knowledge of incident investigation techniques, e.g. ICAM
- Strong understanding of relevant legislation, including H&S at Work Act, MARPOL and ISPS
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Degree or equivalent in HSSE or Engineering, or Level 6 safety qualification
