Role Overview:
This is a senior, high-impact leadership position to head and expand our client's project logistics operations across Latin America. You will drive new business generation using your personal network alongside the company's established global channels, support international project teams on LATAM-related initiatives, and lead the planning and execution of complex transportation projects—including heavy lift, out-of-gauge (OOG), and breakbulk—across the Americas and internationally. The role suits a highly motivated, entrepreneurial professional with deep expertise in building strong, lasting relationships with clients, vendors (transporters, route consultants, port operators, carriers, etc.), and partners in the dynamic LATAM market.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and ongoing maintenance of the Project Forwarding vertical in LATAM, with full budget preparation and financial accountability for the regional business unit.
- Drive strategy implementation and future growth in core sectors including Oil & Gas, Mining, and Energy.
- Identify, onboard, and develop new network partners in strategic LATAM locations to strengthen capabilities and support expansion.
- Proactively develop business to align with and advance the company's regional and global growth strategy.
- Build new customer relationships in priority sectors while nurturing and maintaining key existing accounts.
- Partner closely with global project teams in Africa, APAC, Middle East, and Europe to prepare complex project logistics proposals and ensure successful execution for LATAM-originating or destined clients.
- Oversee the delivery of technical and complex logistics operations for both in-country and overseas projects.
- Secure competitive local and international transport and ocean freight rates for import/export cargo.
- Explore and penetrate new markets beyond the current project portfolio within LATAM.
- Resolve operational issues by coordinating with internal teams, external vendors (e.g., ports, transporters), and clients.
- Serve as an active member of the client's global project team, collaborating across business units worldwide.
- Share freight and project leads with overseas branches and deliver monthly EBIT reporting for the business unit.
- Champion the company's culture, values, reputation, and strict adherence to group policies.
- Internal: Global customer service, commercial and operations teams, country management, compliance, legal departments, and international offices/branches.
- External: Project logistics community, local joint venture partners, international customers and market participants, strategic vendors (warehouse providers, shipping lines, trucking companies, freight forwarders, etc.).
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in project logistics, heavy lift (HLOOG), out-of-gauge (OOG), breakbulk, or equivalent roles.
- Exceptional commercial and entrepreneurial drive—essential for success in this position.
- Deep knowledge of shipping and logistics industries, with specific focus on local/cross-border transport of breakbulk, OOG, and heavy lift cargo.
- Strong analytical capabilities for preparing project shipment estimates, load planning, and technical proposals.
- Proven success working in cross-functional, multicultural teams.

- Solid general understanding of exports, imports, warehousing, and transport operations.
- Fluency in both written and spoken Spanish and English (mandatory).
- Outstanding interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Regularly provide clients with updates on rates, market dynamics, and developments via phone and email.
