About the Role:

As the HR Director, you'll be orchestrating HR strategies that propel organizational success. Your role involves implementing high level action plans, fostering a positive culture, and aligning HR initiatives with business goals to attract, develop, and retain top talent in this dynamic company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic HR Leadership:
    • Team up with executive leaders to create and execute HR strategies that turbocharge organizational objectives and nurture a high-performance culture.
    • Share your wisdom on workforce planning, talent acquisition, and succession planning to ensure we have the right talent for now and the future.
  • Talent Management:
    • Captain the entire employee life cycle, making sure it's a smooth and positive journey from recruitment to off-boarding.
    • Implement talent development programs that boost the skills and capabilities of our fantastic team.
  • Employee Relations:
    • Keep an eye on industry-specific regulations, ensuring HR policies are shipshape.
    • Navigate HR risks through proactive measures, compliance monitoring, and conducting fair investigations.
    • Be the mediator in conflict resolution sessions, promoting harmony in our work environment.
  • Organizational Culture and Employee Engagement:
    • Cultivate a positive organizational culture that aligns with the unique challenges and values of the organization.
    • Implement engaging initiatives that boost employee satisfaction, retention, and overall workplace morale.
  • Compensation and Benefits:
    • Work hand-in-hand with the VP and HR Manager to create and manage competitive compensation and benefits programs.
    • Keep us sailing in the right direction by conducting regular market analyses.  
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in HR leadership roles within the maritime shipping industry (extra points if you love the sea!).
  • In-depth knowledge of laws, regulations, and industry-specific HR challenges.
  • Strong strategic thinking and business acumen.
  • Ability to lead and inspire teams in a dynamic and challenging environment.
