In this role the Head of Marine will lead and promote marine and navigational safety for the port area applying the powers of the Harbour Authority.
Additionally they will be responsible for the management of the sectors Marine teams, and will be tasked with delivering the operations for the South East Cluster.
Alongside day to day operations and people management, this role will particularly focus on compliance and marine assurance, candidates will have to be able to demonstrate their experience in this area.
To be considered for this role candidates must be able to demonstrate the following experience/ skills
- Experience of running an operational team ideally within a technical, logistics or operational environment, and working under strict statutory/compliance frameworks.
- Knowledge of Port Marine Operations, experience working at Sea or in Shipping or as a Harbour Master or Deputy Harbour Master.
- Experience of managing high value operational budgets
- ▪ Proven ability to form positive internal and external relationships, but not afraid to influence opposition and challenge if its in the
- Company interest or to enforce statutory obligations.
- Able to multi-task and prioritise workload effectively, and adaptable to change in a fast-paced environment
