Role Overview: As the Head of Fleet Environmental Operations, you will play a pivotal role in managing and enhancing our fleet's environmental performance. Your responsibilities will include overseeing logistics, waste disposal, and ensuring strict compliance with environmental regulations and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and manage logistics and waste disposal activities, ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Monitor vessels' activities daily, driving compliance through effective communication with onboard officers.
- Assist in the administration of ISO standards and manage carbon emissions reporting schemes.
- Develop strategies and programs for managing environmental activities with Port Agencies and stakeholders.
- Coordinate shipside activities, ensuring documentation compliance with CLIA, Port Authorities, and other stakeholders.
- Negotiate costs/rebates with environmental services vendors and agencies.
- Stay updated on environmental legislation and rules, ensuring correct application of procedures and documentation.
- Fluent in oral and written English; knowledge of Italian and other major European languages is advantageous.
- Environmental science university studies preferred; post-graduate studies in the area of interest is a plus.
- Wide knowledge of the Cruise/Maritime industry.
- Experience onboard cruise ships in an environmental, deck, or engineering role preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant platforms.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to contribute to a harmonious team environment.
- Ability to understand and interpret complex regulations, environmental matters, and financial implications.
