The Global Sales Manager (Maritime Cybersecurity) will be based in Tokyo, Japan and is responsible for driving revenue growth and building strong customer partnerships within the global maritime industry. This role focuses on promoting and selling ship cybersecurity solutions, with a particular emphasis on compliance with IACS UR E26 and E27 regulations. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of maritime technologies and proven experience in selling complex technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies for cybersecurity solutions aligned with IACS UR E26 and E27 compliance requirements
- Conduct product presentations, demonstrations, and technical discussions with key clients and stakeholders
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to achieve and exceed revenue and growth targets
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring long-term satisfaction and repeat business
- Lead and mentor sales teams, setting clear goals and monitoring performance to ensure results
- Track market trends and competitor activity to identify new opportunities and refine strategies
- Drive acquisition of new key accounts while managing a healthy and active sales pipeline
- Collaborate closely with technical teams to deliver customized solutions that meet customer needs
- Align client engagement strategies with business objectives and KPIs
- Travel frequently (30-50%) across Asia—including South Korea, Southeast Asia, China, and India—for client meetings, business development, and industry events
- At least 8 years of sales experience, ideally within the vessel, cybersecurity, or technology sectors
- Minimum 4 years of experience in cybersecurity solution or vessel sales within Japan
- Fluent Japanese and English communication skills (spoken and written)
- In-depth knowledge of IACS UR E26 and E27 regulations
- Strong proficiency in CRM systems and sales reporting tools
- Familiarity with ship systems, IT, and OT cybersecurity concepts
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Highly customer-focused with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Established network within the maritime ecosystem, including vessel companies and shipowners
- Knowledge of cybersecurity solutions essential for this role
