Faststream is exclusively working with a prominent player in the Oil and Gas Industry in West Africa, specializing in security vessels and offshore operations. We are dedicated to upholding the highest standards of safety, reliability, and efficiency in our fleet. We are currently seeking a committed professional to join the team as the General Manager of Marine.
  
Job Description:

As general Manager of Marine, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the operational and safety aspects of our security and offshore vessels. This position involves ensuring the responsibilities of the crew and shorestaff, where you will ensure vessel safety, operational excellence, and compliance with industry standards. Additionally, you will be responsible for the overall command and navigation of the fleet.
  
Key Responsibilities:
  
Vessel Operations:
  
Oversee all Masters ultimately being responsible for safe navigation, crew management, and adherence to company policies and international maritime regulations.
Oversee all vessel operations.
Ensure compliance with safety protocols and environmental regulations.

Safety Compliance:
  
Implement and enforce safety procedures and regulations to maintain the highest level of safety on board.
Collaborate with the safety department to conduct safety drills and ensure emergency preparedness.



Marine Supervision:
  
Provide onshore support to vessels by coordinating operational plans, scheduling maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
Conduct regular inspections and audits of vessels to identify and address operational issues.

Crew Management:
  
Manage and lead the vessel's crew, including training, performance evaluations, and development.
Ensure that crew members are properly trained and competent for their roles.
Documentation & Reporting:
  
Maintain accurate records of vessel operations, safety drills, and maintenance activities.
Generate reports on vessel performance, safety, and compliance.

Knowledge Transfer:
Share your expertise and knowledge with crew members and shore staff to enhance their skills and safety awareness.

Collaboration:
  
Collaborate with other departments, including operations, engineering, and safety, to ensure efficient vessel operations.

Qualifications:
  
Extensive experience as a Master within the Offshore sector

Extensive experience as a shorebased Marine Superintendent
Proven track record in marine operations and safety.
Leadership and team management skills & experience.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
Effective communication and reporting skills.
  
  
Rotation and Benefits:
  
This position will be rotational in nature (to be negotiated).
Accommodation and in-country travel will be provided.
