Overall Objective of Role:
The purpose of the role is to conduct forensic investigations of marine casualties and associated incidents globally, either independently or as part of a wider team.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conduct investigations and assessments related to fuel matters
- Perform on-site surveys regarding fuel issues
- Attend laboratory tests concerning fuel analysis
- Prepare letters and reports detailing findings from investigations or attendances
- Provide expert evidence in court/arbitration related to written expert testimony
- Offer advice/support to clients on fuel-related issues
- Adhere to company operating procedures
- Participate in marketing activities
- Contribute to business development initiatives related to the discipline and group
- Undertake any other ad hoc duties aligned with individual capabilities
- MSc degree or higher in a scientific discipline (BSc considered with sufficient relevant experience)
- Sea-going or relevant industry experience
- Highly motivated and proactive, with strong attention to detail
- Approachable and enthusiastic with a positive attitude
- Strong communication skills and fluency in English
- Willingness to travel globally at short notice
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
