I am working with a leading ship management company, currently looking for a Fleet Superintendent to join their cruise department.
This is a unique opportunity to work with a growing division of a well-respected company, where you will be responsible for the efficient technical management and operation of assigned vessels, ensuring the highest standards of safety, compliance, and client service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary accountable person for assigned vessels, managing operations in line with company policies, Flag, Class, and statutory requirements.
- Ensure safety is the top priority, taking decisive action to maintain a strong safety culture onboard.
- Deliver exceptional technical management services to clients, acting as the key link between the customer and the vessel.
- Plan, control, and execute vessel maintenance, repairs, dry-docking, and modifications efficiently.
- Monitor vessel performance trends, including fuel and energy consumption, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Manage and develop senior shipboard officers, conducting performance appraisals and supporting their professional growth.
- Oversee budgets and vessel expenditures, ensuring strict financial control.
- Prepare vessels for inspections and audits, promptly reporting any deficiencies.
- Recognised Engineering or Naval Architecture qualification and/or relevant sea-going experience.
- Shore-based technical management experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with proficiency in English.
- Excellent planning, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Previous experience managing cruise vessels or in a senior shipboard role.
- Previous experience as a Fleet Superintendent or senior engineering/naval architecture position in the marine industry.
- Membership in IMarEST or equivalent professional registration.
- Basic financial understanding and experience administering budgets.
