As a Drydock PMO Planner, you will play a crucial role in the successful delivery of dry dock projects for our vessels. This includes managing budgets, schedules, and logistics, ensuring compliance with codes and regulations, and collaborating with vendors and contractors for timely project completion.
What You’ll Do: Master the Dry-Dock Schedule:
- Oversee and coordinate the master schedule for 3-5 dry docks annually.
- Gather and analyze data to avoid scheduling conflicts.
- Partner with various departments to collect and submit necessary information.
- Maintain and monitor project budgets.
- Review project plans to ensure alignment with approved budgets.
- Analyze progress against work schedules and costs.
- Tackle scheduling conflicts and delays with effective solutions.
- Assess risks and recommend improvements to minimize delays.
- Direct vendor work to ensure timely and quality project delivery.
- Conduct planning meetings and serve as a liaison between stakeholders.
- Produce reports, presentations, and reviews for management and key stakeholders.
- Follow up on pending actions to keep projects on track.
- Update dry-dock master schedules and manage logistics, including heat maps, loading plans, and inspections.
- Track project progress against milestones and budgets.
- Advise and participate in contract negotiations.
- Maintain proactive communication with contractors and vendors.
- Perform onsite inspections to ensure quality and adherence to policies and regulations.
- Serve as Project Manager for medium to large technical and refit projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marine/Mechanical/Industrial Engineering, Naval Architecture, or equivalent experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in shipbuilding, shipyard operations, dry dock repair, and/or project management.
- Proficiency in IT software (Office, Project, and dry dock specific software).
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to find efficient, economical solutions.
- Excellent coordination skills to manage complex dry dock processes.
- Experience in ship repairs and understanding of class/flag requirements.
- Knowledge of ship maintenance (steel, paint, electrical, hydraulic, etc.).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects in a team environment.
