Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the company’s strategy for adopting future fuels, ensuring alignment with ambitious sustainability targets.
- Conduct market analysis to identify emerging trends, technologies, and strategic partnerships in the sustainable fuels sector.
- Lead cross-functional teams to evaluate, trial, and integrate alternative fuels—including biogenic and e-fuels—across a diverse cruise fleet.
- Provide expert technical guidance on the feasibility, performance, and integration of new fuel technologies.
- Oversee fuel trials and collaborate closely with naval architects and engineers to retrofit and design vessels for alternative fuel use.
- Monitor and interpret global maritime fuel regulations, ensuring full compliance and proactive engagement with regulatory bodies and industry associations.
- Develop and manage robust metrics for tracking progress toward sustainability goals, and prepare regular reports for senior management and stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with fuel suppliers, technology providers, research institutions, and industry partners.
- Represent the company at key industry conferences and forums, communicating the company’s strategy and achievements in sustainable fuels.
- Oversee operational expenses related to future fuels, working closely with finance and supply chain teams.
- Conduct economic feasibility analyses and support strategic financial planning for major fuel projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field is essential; a Master’s degree or higher is highly desirable.
- At least 10 years’ experience in the maritime, energy, or environmental sectors, with a proven focus on fuel technology and sustainability.
- Demonstrated success in developing and implementing alternative fuel strategies, ideally within the maritime or cruise industry.
- In-depth knowledge of decarbonization practices, emerging fuel technologies, and regulatory frameworks.
- Strong leadership and project management skills, with experience leading medium to large teams and driving organizational change.
- Excellent analytical, financial modeling, and decision-making abilities.
- Outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at all organizational levels and represent the company externally.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite; knowledge of industry-specific software is advantageous.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
