Job Description

Are you an experienced event professional with a passion for luxury travel and a spirit of adventure? We are searching for a Destination Experience Manager to join a world-class team, responsible for curating and delivering exceptional shore-based experiences for participants of a renowned global yacht rally and other high-profile events.

About the Role:
This is a hands-on, client-facing position that requires significant international travel—often for periods of up to three months at a time. You will play a pivotal role in shaping unforgettable journeys, working both independently and as part of a remote team. Your focus will be on planning, coordinating, and executing culturally immersive activities and excursions that elevate the overall event experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Curate & Deliver Experiences: Plan, design, and coordinate unique, culturally-rich destination experiences for rally participants, ensuring every detail aligns with the high standards expected by luxury clientele.
  • Third-Party Management: Rigorously vet, liaise with, and audit external providers to guarantee safety, quality, and seamless delivery. Develop strong, professional relationships with local tourism authorities, marinas, and vendors worldwide.
  • Participant Engagement: Act as the primary contact for participants regarding all shore-based activities, managing bookings and responding to queries through the CRM system (HubSpot).
  • Pre-Arrival Preparation: Provide timely, comprehensive pre-arrival information—including activity briefs, logistical details, and destination insights—to ensure participants are fully prepared.
  • On-Site Facilitation: Travel in advance of the fleet to oversee on-the-ground delivery, troubleshoot issues, and ensure experiences run smoothly and exceed expectations.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with internal events, logistics, and planning teams to ensure all experiences are aligned with the master rally schedule and support related initiatives such as Explorers Club, Bluewater Academy, and Regattas.
  • Continuous Improvement: Maintain accurate records of bookings, client preferences, and feedback to inform ongoing enhancements and detailed reporting.
Who We’re Looking For:
  • Proven experience in event coordination, destination management, or travel planning—preferably in a luxury, marine, or high-end hospitality context.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a confident and diplomatic approach when liaising with clients and vendors across cultures and time zones.
  • Experience working independently in remote or international environments, demonstrating flexibility, resilience, and initiative.
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms (HubSpot preferred), Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and project management tools.
  • Personable, customer-service oriented, and committed to delivering exceptional quality and participant satisfaction.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally for extended periods (up to 3 months at a time) and work across varying time zones.
  • Full UK driving licence preferred; relevant certifications in travel, tourism, or event management are advantageous but not essential.
Why Apply?
This is a rare opportunity to join a dynamic, global team and play a key role in delivering extraordinary experiences in some of the world’s most stunning destinations. If you thrive on adventure, excel in high-touch client service, and are ready for a career-defining challenge, we want to hear from you!

You must have the right to live and work in the UK to be considered for the role.
