A well-established international ship management and maritime services company is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Crewing Officer to join its Amsterdam office. About the Role The Crewing Officer will be responsible for ensuring vessels are staffed with qualified and compliant seafarers. This includes managing recruitment, certification, travel logistics, contract rotations, and acting as a key point of contact for both internal departments and external crewing partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate recruitment, selection, and placement of crew for assigned vessels
- Verify seafarer documentation, medicals, certificates, and training compliance
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date crew records within internal databases
- Plan crew rotations and schedule timely reliefs
- Liaise with manning agents, training providers, and internal stakeholders
- Arrange crew travel, visas, and related logistics
- Ensure compliance with STCW, MLC, flag-state, and company standards
- Provide day-to-day HR support to seafarers during their assignments
- Previous experience as a Crewing Officer, Crewing Assistant, or similar maritime personnel role
- Strong understanding of STCW, MLC, and maritime certification requirements
- Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail
- Confident communicator with a professional and collaborative approach
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in MS Office; experience with crewing software is beneficial
- Fluent in English; additional languages are an advantage
