This is a high-level, strategic position with the chance to shape how the company recruits, supports, and retains its seafarers globally. You'll be the driving force behind people-related change at sea, ensuring crews are safe, supported, and sustainable — both financially and operationally.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing a progressive crewing strategy with clear standards and initiatives — especially for senior officers
- Building crew-related policies and procedures that deliver consistency and quality across the fleet
- Supporting the vetting of senior ranks to ensure leadership excellence onboard
- Helping define fair and competitive seafarer compensation structures
- Exploring new ways to attract female seafarers and improve gender balance
- Monitoring and controlling crew-related spend — with crew typically accounting for 60% of OPEX, every decision matters
- Addressing claims and reducing risk through smarter crewing practices
- Driving welfare improvements, from health screening to new onboard initiatives that reduce welfare-related claims
- Creating career rotation pathways across the company’s managed fleets — improving engagement, retention, and reducing retraining costs
- Promoting multinationality and inclusion through culture programs and diversity initiatives
This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of crewing strategy within a business that’s committed to doing things better — for its people and its future.
