A Greek-based shipowning company is seeking a Commercial Operator to join its operations team. This role plays a key part in the day-to-day commercial and marine management of the fleet, working closely with Chartering, Technical, Insurance, and HSSQEE functions to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant vessel operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Chartering during pre-fixture activities (questionnaires, stowage, cargo planning)
  • Prepare and monitor voyages, including instructions, port information, and execution
  • Oversee day-to-day vessel operations and cargo handling
  • Coordinate agents, port matters, D/A approvals, and vessel-related expenses
  • Manage bunker stemmings and monitor fuel supply
  • Monitor vessel documentation, certification, and regulatory compliance in coordination with Insurance
  • Oversee navigational equipment, charts, publications, and communication systems
  • Support vetting inspections and liaise with Masters on operational performance
  • Ensure compliance with Company policies and SMS procedures
  • Coordinate with the Technical Department on performance, defects, and inspections
  • Arrange Drug & Alcohol testing and monitor Medical Chest compliance
  • Assist with claims documentation and emergency response support
  • Monitor timely delivery of stores and provisions
  • Promote safe, efficient, and environmentally sound vessel operation
Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in a Marine / Commercial Operator or similar role
  • Seagoing experience in rank
  • Master Mariner or Chief Officer license desirable
  • Excellent command of Greek and English (written and spoken)
  • Solid understanding of commercial vessel operations, voyage execution, and regulatory compliance
  • Ability to manage multiple operational priorities in a fast-paced environment
