If so, this could be your next move. Faststream are partnering with a thriving business, who are looking to recruit a senior-level Commercial Manager to lead and strengthen their commercial and business development function.
This is a senior, influential role with real autonomy, focused on tendering, winning, and shaping complex technical projects on a global scale. You will work closely with the executive leadership team, engineering, and operations to ensure the business continues to secure high-value contracts and build long-term client relationships across offshore energy and marine construction markets.
Responsibilities
- Lead the commercial and tendering strategy, owning the end-to-end bid, tender, and contract process
- Negotiate and manage shipping, chartering, logistics, and offshore construction contracts
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders
- Support business development and sales, identifying new opportunities and markets
- Work collaboratively with engineering teams to develop commercially sound, technically robust solutions
- Represent the business at client meetings, industry events, and international engagements
- Proven experience in a commercial, contracts, or business development role within offshore, marine, or heavy engineering sectors
- Background in one or more of the following is highly desirable:
- Offshore construction contracting
- Shipping, chartering, or marine logistics
- Vessel ownership, shipyards, OEMs, ROV or subsea operations
- Offshore wind or subsea infrastructure
- Strong track record of tendering and winning major projects
- Technical or engineering background is advantageous but not essential, a genuine interest and commercial understanding of engineering solutions is key
- Commercially astute with excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Customer-focused mindset with long-term relationship-building ability
- Willingness to be office-based in the North East, with international travel as required
