Faststream is currently representing a leading global organisation in the maritime sector that is seeking to appoint a Business Development Manager within their Marine & Offshore Commercial Team.
This is a newly created and highly strategic role, operating out of Geneva, with a strong focus on stakeholder engagement, service development, and global business expansion.
Role Overview: The successful candidate will work closely with the Director based in Geneva, with the primary objective of identifying and converting commercial opportunities across the wider marine stakeholder ecosystem, including shipowners, charterers, brokers, financiers, and traders. This role plays a pivotal part in shaping future service offerings and increasing the visibility of the organisation in key markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, qualify, and convert commercial opportunities through the Director’s extensive network and the global M&O business development structure
- Drive the development of new service solutions in response to evolving stakeholder needs, working closely with internal product, innovation, and R&D teams
- Represent the organisation at relevant industry events, forums, and associations in the Geneva area and beyond (e.g., Propeller Club, STSA, Geneva Dry, etc)
- Support marketing, communication, and brand visibility efforts related to the marine stakeholder segment
- Highly experienced within the maritime industry, ideally working with or within shipowners, charterers, traders, brokers, or financial stakeholders
- Proven experience in business development, account management, or stakeholder engagement
- Strong understanding of the regulatory, operational, and commercial landscape of the marine industry
- Fluent in English; additional languages (particularly French) would be advantageous
- Strategic, self-motivated, and comfortable working in a hybrid global environment
