Our client, an established marine engineering and shipyard organisation is seeking an Assistant Manager to strengthen its operational Finance function in Singapore.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role will oversee day-to-day finance operations, enhance financial controls, and drive process improvements across Singapore entities while supporting regional shared service coordination.
This opportunity suits a hands-on finance professional who is comfortable operating in a high-volume, dynamic environment and can navigate operational complexities with confidence.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee finance operations supporting yard activities, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and approved budgets
  • Strengthen and ensure compliance with financial policies, internal controls, and governance frameworks
  • Lead process enhancement initiatives, particularly within Accounts Payable, including invoice review and payment processing workflows
  • Manage cash flow across Singapore entities (including holding structure), ensuring sufficient liquidity while monitoring financial and interest rate risks
  • Collaborate closely with FP&A and General Ledger teams to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners
  • Coordinate with regional shared service functions, including Malaysia operations
  • Support system improvements and participate in ad-hoc finance and operational projects
Key Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy or Accounting or 
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant finance operations experience
  • Experience in construction, marine, shipyard, or contractor-driven industries 
  • Strong exposure to Accounts Payable and operational finance processes
  • Prior experience supervising a team and partnering with shared service teams
  • Advanced Excel skills; SAP knowledge will be an added advantage
  • Strong understanding of financial controls, compliance, and risk management
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and effective communication skills
