This is a build-and-grow role for a commercially minded leader who understands the ship agency landscape and is comfortable operating in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping strategy, building the team, and driving profitability within the agency division.
Based in Singapore, you will have full responsibility for the ship agency function, including business development, operational performance, and financial results.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategy for expanding the port agency business
- Own the P&L for the ship agency division, driving revenue growth and cost control
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing agency team
- Set clear objectives, performance standards, and expectations for direct reports
- Drive new business development across agency and related marine services
- Maintain strong awareness of market trends, competition, and client needs
- Respond to urgent operational enquiries and manage client issues or complaints
- Ensure high service quality and operational reliability under time pressure
- Advise senior management on strategic matters and provide input on key business decisions
- Proven experience in ship agency, port agency, or related marine services
- Strong business development track record within the maritime industry
- Exposure to complementary marine sectors such as bunkering, chartering, crewing, ship supplies, or S&P is highly advantageous
- Experience managing teams and setting performance expectations
- Solid commercial and financial acumen, with P&L responsibility preferred
- Ability to handle urgent operational issues and client-facing challenges
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
