The Training & Safety Manager shall have the following qualifications:
- Seagoing experience in a management position, or a university degree and experience in the maritime industry of not less than five years;
- Experience in cruise and or passenger vessel training, safety and emergency procedures, management and design.
- A good command of the English language;
- Good leadership, communication and interpersonal skills;
- Conversant with applicable international and national rules and regulations;
- Sufficient experience and knowledge in course designing;
- Qualified Trainer as per IMO model course 6.09.
Primary tasks
- Develop, review, and continually improve Shipboard Emergency Operations, including muster lists, matrices, and emergency team training.
- Weekly reporting to senior training manager.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with training-related regulations as per IMO conventions, flag state notices, and company-specific requirements.
- Identify and follow up on training needs as highlighted by both company and onboard team feedback.
- Design and implement training plans for fleet vessels, employing best practices including face-to-face sessions, e-learning, and simulations.
- Oversee and manage the on board trainers schedule to ensure delivery of effective in-house training.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training courses and make necessary adjustments to ensure high-quality outcomes.
- Create and update training materials to meet both company and regulatory standards.
- Keep accurate training records and statistics.
- Manage the client Learning Management System (LMS) to facilitate e-learning.
- Engage with subject matter experts to enhance content and relevance of training programs.
- Undertake additional special tasks as requested by the client or ship owner.
- Evaluating, planning and executing training projects;
- Ensuring that non-conformities, observations and customer complaints are investigated and timely followed-up;
- Implementing the Company’s Management System including development of new or the amendments to existing procedures;
