The Opportunity
We’re seeking an experienced Technical Superintendent to take end-to-end technical ownership of assigned LNG carriers. You’ll be the first-line technical contact for your ships, leading dry dock planning and execution, maintenance and repairs, budget control, and ensuring the highest standards of compliance and performance.
Key Responsibilities
  • Own the day-to-day technical management of assigned LNG carriers, acting as the first-line technical response.
  • Plan, scope, and execute dry docks, repairs, and maintenance, on time and within budget.
  • Drive vessel reliability and performance through effective PMS/CMMS oversight, defect control, and condition monitoring.
  • Ensure full compliance with ISM, Class, Flag, and company HSE requirements; support internal/external audits and client vetting.
  • Prepare and manage OPEX/CAPEX budgets; analyse costs and variances; recommend cost-effective solutions.
  • Liaise closely with Masters/Chief Engineers, shipyards, OEMs, and suppliers to deliver safe, efficient outcomes.
  • Lead and support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement actions.
  • Visit vessels, shipyards, and vendors as required.
About You
  • Chief Engineer (STCW) background, with a minimum of 1 year shore-based experience as a Technical Superintendent (or similar).
  • LNG experience is essential (e.g., membrane/Moss/Type C exposure; gas handling/BOG management, dual-fuel systems).
  • Strong knowledge of ISM, Class & Flag requirements; proven dry dock planning and execution.
  • Hands-on experience with planned maintenance systems, technical troubleshooting, and budget management.
  • Clear communicator with stakeholder management skills and a results-driven approach.
  • Fluent English; Norwegian language skills are an advantage but not essential.
  • Willing and able to travel internationally when required.
